Esme's Birthday Card

Here is Esme's birthday card. She turned 4 on January 27. I made the shaped card using George and the Gypsy and cut the center out with a nestability. Inked it up and stuck some balloons I had punched out years ago. The stamps in side are from Above Rubies Studio and the "Happy Birthday 4" is from The Stamps of Life.

To all my dear blog friends who think I've fallen from the face of the earth, I'm still here. I do try to get to all your blogs on a daily basis but sometimes I don't have the time to comment. I will be here on and off from now till the end of the year and then, hopefully, back to my old schedule.

Here's another album using Kathy Orta's Ultimate Page Bag Album Tutorial. This one was so much fun to make. I love doing Halloween stuff! The pages were made with CelebrateIt Sacks from Michael's and Recollections CS. All of the pattern paper is from an K&Company Tim Coffey Specialty Paper (had it for ever but found it again on Create For Less in the clearance section if you are interested). The binding is black duck tape and the few cut-outs inside are from the Happy Hauntings cartridge.

I swear, I keep trying not to make any more albums but I just can't help myself. This latest one was made using the Confessions of a Shopaholic tutorial, all of the papers are from the DCWV Mariposa 8 x 8 stack. These papers are so beautiful that I was only half way through the album when I ordered another one. Again, this is a picture heavy post. If you haven't been there yet, it is definitely worth a trip to see Kathy Orta at Paperphenomenon.

Once again, this is really picture heavy. I had the best time making this album (I've made 4 of them). And, once again I followed the tutorial by Kathy Orta to create this amazing piece. I wish I could take credit for any of the creativity here but all I can own up to is cutting and pasting. The total concept and design is Kathy's. All of the papers are from the DCWV Lady Couture stack, ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, pearls from my stash, the base of paper bags are Celebration from Michael's, the "lock" is Tim Holtz, and the charms are Connect and Wear from Walmart's bead section.

Just to show you that I haven't really been a slacker .... I'll be posting some albums that I've made and some card sets as well. It's just taken me forever to get Mr. Photobucket to agree to edit these the way I wanted them.

This one is definitely picture heavy. Sorry but I don't have any way to video this or else I would have. Also apologize in advance for the quality of the photography ... in short, I'm awful at it. This is an album I made using the tutorial from Kathy Orta. If you haven't visited her blog you really should. She has some of the most innovative and original ideas and albums that I've ever seen. And, she's fun!!!! This is her new envie album. It was a joy to make! Most of the papers are from DCWV Wedding Stack, some from my stash. Everything is in shades of black, white, and grey so don't think the color on your monitor has gone out.

I know it's been forever since I've posted (or crafted for that matter). Here's a card I made for my friend's birthday on Sunday. She and I have a wager going. By October 16 (my 65th birthday) she has to lose X number of pounds and I have to be the weight I am right now, give or take 1 pound. If she takes my advice I might just win the bet!

I made this card for my dear friend Margie who will be 86 in a couple of weeks. The image and the sentiment say it all about her. We should all have the zest for life and sense of humor that she does!
The image was cut from Paisley on GinaK cardstock, the background paper is PTI, the sentiment is TSOL stamped in memento rich cocoa.

Wedding Guest Book and Gift Card Box

A friend of mine asked me to decorate the guest book and gift card box for her son's wedding next week. She brought me the label that her future daughter-in-law had made up to go on each of the hot pink cupcake boxes that will be at each place setting. Once I had that it was a breeze to duplicate it since I'd been well enabled by Enfys over at Going Buggy and had purchased Elegant Edges. The polka dot paper is from the Black & White mat stack from the Paper Studio, the other black and white papers are from Colorbok, and the hot pink is from GinaK. The labels were cut using Elegant Edges, my Gypsy, and my new E2 (LOVE IT), the monogram was cut using Plantin Schoolbook. The ribbon is Offray from JoAnn's.

Scrap Happy Thursday Challenge - PCM

I'm waaaay behind on this. It was the March 21st challenge over at Papercrafting Mania. It called for a plaque but Tracey was kind enough to let us make a cardstock sign instead. Mine is made entirely from scraps left over from a friend's scrapbook layout. I think that the CS is all from SEI. The lettering was cut from the Gypsy Font cartridge. I made it for my niece, Kathy, who is going through some really tough chemo to save her only kidney. She's doing amazingly well and we've decided that she deserves to be the "queen of it all" for the way she is handling this. Always positive, never complaining in spite of all that she has to endure. She's an inspiration to all who know her. I don't usually ask this but if you would keep her in your prayers, I would be eternally grateful. Here's the lady herself.

Our swap this month was a tag and the theme was spring. Here's mine

The cardstock is GinaK pure luxury, the bottom half run through my Big Shot using the CB branches folder and inked around the edges with Vivid Olive. The flowers and bugs are all pop outs from K&Company Tim Coffey Specialty Punch Out Pad layered up with SU dimensionals. Spring is a rub on that I've had in my stash and the ribbon is SU.

I was asked by a friend to make a card to complement the wedding invitation she received. The base is GinaK pure luxury white, layered with silver, and BoBunny magenta. The initial was cut from Tie the Knot, inked with versamark dazzle and embossed with Bridal glitter. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado Mr. and Mrs. inked with Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with a Nestie fancy tag. The embellishments are from Delish Designs. The inside of the card was stamped using the swirl and bride and groom from the same stamp set as the sentiment. Here's the invitation, card, and inside.

The base of the card is from the K&Company Julianne die-cut cardmaking pad, the flower is from the Tim Coffey specialty punch-out pad. The sentiment is from TSOL inked in SU white. My friend's son just got engaged and she asked me to make a card for the occasion. I used GinaK pure luxury CS, created the scroll background with TSOL Swirls2build inked in ColorBox Mica Magic Silver. All of the elements including the ribbon are from the After 5 accent kit by Tapestry by C.R. Gibson (that I bought from my table mate at our scrapbook garage sale a couple of weeks ago). the sentiment inside says:

February Swap at PCM - Warning this is picture heavy

Every month we do a swap over at PCM. Tanya chooses the theme and her daughter, Candace, sends out the names. This month was do something you've never done before! I happened on a tutorial on youtube, Tutorial Manilla Folder Mini Album, and decided I'd give it a try. When I had it all finished, Christina very kindly put up a video on the box she used to give her sister a mini album. Talk about luck for me!!!! Anyway .... I digress. The mini album base is from manila folders I cleaned out of my desk at the end of 2010. All of the pattern paper is from a Colorbox stack from Walmart called Truffle. You have to turn the pack over and look down at the bottom right hand corner to figure out the name of the pack. All of the embellies were things I had on hand.

Golfer's Birthday Card

I was asked to make a card for an 80th birthday. The criteria .... golfer, salad, cards. Here's what I came up with. All of the cs and sentiments are GinaK, the salad bowl was cut from "From my Kitchen", the leaves were trimmed from an oval nestie (thanks to the inspiration and instruction of Valita), the cards are from a Jolene pack, and the golfer is of course a Loralie fabric cutout.

Yes, I admit it and I apologize. I've been busily making and sending cards and totally forgetting to scan or take pictures of them. I pour over all of your blogs and oooh and aaah and then totally ignore my own. My resolution for next year is to keep my blog up to date and give you some reason to come visit me.

Here's one birthday card I made that I actually did make a copy of but had to wait till the receiver's b'day and then forgot to post. EIYIYI!!!!!!!

Christmas Gift Check Holder

Each year I give checks to my great nieces and nephew. They are all in their teens and up and appreciate the cash but I hate just sticking a check in a card. This is the one of the mini-albums I made. The check is obviously attached to the tag in the center pocket. All of the albums used the same pattern papers from the Mistletoe collection from memorybox, inc. I found it in a LSS in Madison, WI. These papers are so gorgeous and the pictures don't do them any justice at all. All of the embellishments are from my stash of Christmas goodies. Each album is a little different from the next but I didn't think you needed to see all 5 of them. I bound them with my bind-it-all. I added a decorative ornament hanger to the side so they can be put on the tree.

Here's my entry for this week's Throwback Thursday over at Emma's. The card was designed on my gypsy using From My Kitchen. The cardstock is GinaK kraft, the inking around the edges was done with SU soft suede, the doodling with Sakura gellyroll white, the heart is from a MS valentine pack I had around, the ribbon is from my stash and the face was drawn with copic and sharpie markers. I don't have the PKS snowman or winter faces kit so I drew my own as I'm sure you can tell. I'm just so glad that Kathy has the talent for faces that she does!!!!

This is a birthday card I came up with yesterday. The "calendar" page is an ingenious stamp set, calendar2build by Stephanie Barnard at TSOL, inked in Memento Rich Cocoa on PTI Spring Moss. The pattern paper is from PTI Friends Till the End collection and the window was cut out with the Nesties Label One largest die. The ribbon is the last of a roll (I'm going to miss this ribbon!) from my stash and the gem is from who knows where.

Sorry I haven't been posting or commenting much lately. I had the floors replaced in my craft/laundry room and back hallway. Everything had to move to one of the guest rooms and then, of course, had to move back. Somewhere between the two moves my mojo went missing and still hasn't really been seen since. I did manage to get this card done yesterday (actually 6 of them with different ladies). I've been having so much fun making these scratch pad covers. 6 of them sold in the first 2 days there were in the shop. The base is GinaK pure luxury chocolate brown, all the other papers are from my stash. The awning was punched with a MS border punch, the outside flourish on the sentiment is from the fancy tag set of nesties, and the inside frame is cut from the new Lite Lacy Labels cart. All of the wording was computer generated. Inking was done with SU spots.

We're going to SC for my great nephew's graduation at the end of the month. This is the card I made for Bob. I used Everyday Paper Dolls but trimmed down the face since he has a lean, chiseled look and not the charlie brown face on the cart. All of papers came from my stash, except the paper doll itself which is PTI blush blossom. The sentiment is PTI signature greetings and the name is TSOL, both inked in SU Old Olive.

This card is a scraplift inspired by Joy at Everyday Cricut and Obsessed with Scrapbooking. My cs is BoBunny Passion Fruit Dot, the water is DCWV Spring Stack, and the white is PTI. The image is from Loralie Fashion Beach fabric, the sentiment is PTI Handwritten Notes inked in SU Melon Mambo, and the whirly thing at the top is a ColorBok shaped paper clip. I added make a splash and signed it before I remembered to take a picture, oh well!

I was commissioned by my darling GS to make cards for his two best girlfriends, Sadie and Siani who will be 4 this summer. Apparently, much to his superhero loving dismay, they like "that princess stuff." So, here they are! Both were done with the Once Upon a Princess cart, using scrap cardstock. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions inked with Memento Tuxedo Black.

This is a card I made for the shoppers at our local yarn store. The owners are gracious enough to carry my cards and let me teach when I feel like it.

The base CS is PTI dark chocolate, the pattern paper is SU (don't know the name but it came in Barb Gornick's card kit), the window is a Doorways stamp from Art Impressions Ink, colored with copics. The sentiments are computer generated, the ball of yarn is my own design colored with copics.

This is one of the boxed card sets I've been working on recently. The box design is from GinaK at Stamptv The instructions and template are on her website. The pattern paper is Autumn Leaves Pretty Poppy (sob,sob, I'm nearing the end of my stash), the black and red cardstock are from GinaK, the white cardstock is Papertrey Ink as is the sentiment (signature greetings) inked in Memento Tuxedo Black. The ribbon is from Offray, and the labels were cut with Nestabilities Labels Ten and punched with SU's slot punch. The box is held closed with BasicGrey magnetic discs.

My great niece is doing a presentation at school on adoption (she was adopted at 3 days old). I offered to help with the poster and this is what we ended up with. The lettering was cut with MTC using the Market font ( I LOVE MTC), and the paper dolls were all cut from Everyday Paper Dolls using all scraps from my bin.
